I own a few pretty white tablecloths, and I used to cover them with disposable tablecloth covers each meal but my little ones would play with it and not only would the whole thing drag off but the flying plastic didn’t seem very safe. So I got the hard tablecloth covers, and every Motzei shabbos I clean it with Lysol before putting it away.
I’ve been noticing more and more people using different colored tablecloths for Shabbos/YT; people don’t seem to use white anymore, more natural type colors. The thing I don’t understand is that no one uses covers! So help me understand…every meal at my house has something spill, splatter, get dirty. There’s no way my tablecloth will last more then one meal if I want it looking neat and normal. What do people do? Have multiple tablecloths per shabbos?
Also, how do you wash them? Food has oil…you scrub each stain for each tablecloth every week?

I change my tablecloth every meal. I hate the look of plastic over the tablecloth.
