Everyone is different. Mine was painful and ended up taking it out a month after. Some people love theirs.

No way. It's far from comfortable but most painful thing ever? No way. And it's pretty short.
Take Advil beforehand.

Insertion wasn't an issue but had horrible pain for the 3 months it was in, even though Sonos and doctors said everything looked fine

I've gotten two IUDs. The insertion is super quick. While the instruments were in me I felt bad cramping but as soon as they were out it stopped. You posted this under Infants so I'm assuming you're newly postpartum? That usually makes insertion easier.

Ive had I think 4 or 5 mirenas inserted and never had pain. A little cramping, a quick pinching feeling. Thats it. And I always tool 3 Advil beforehand as a precaution

I actually did have discomfort after the procedure but the placement itself was fine

Compared to labor it was nothing.

I had an NP put it in as her first time and she did a terrible job. It was so uncomfortable. But I wouldn’t call it painful.

It’s not bad after kids. Pre-kid, it was excruciating. It’s a night and day difference.

Get it immediately after birth. I had mine put in then with my epidural still going and I didn't feel a thing. Best decision ever.

I had it put in twice.
First time a little cramping.
Second time I almost fainted from the pain.
Same dr both times.
