Where's the closest lookout place I can go? (From Brooklyn) ty! Can drive up to 3 hours

Unfortunately, there's nowhere you can drive to in three hours from Brooklyn that will allow you to see totality.
All is not lost, though; wait a bit. The solar eclipse of 2079 will be clearly visible from Brooklyn!

Won't there be enough to see in Brooklyn? I think a partial eclipse is interesting enough. I hope it won't be cloudy!

I know people that are driving to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse.

Syracuse is the closest area within totality to the NYC metro area. It's about 4 hours on a good day, it will take a lot more than 4 hours on Monday.
