Thank you for the PSA.
I know some people who do half challa and half rugalach. Is that an issue?
Some people like to do hafrashas challa each week so they make 5 lbs and distribute challa to their friends. Is that a problem?
At one challa event, the speaker actually encouraged ladies to bake each week, even if you don't need the challa- just give it away.

My oven can't do that much at once. Neither can my bread machine. My rov said to make what the bread machine can hold, then start a second batch while shaping the first. Once the second batch is done in the machine, the first has risen. Put a clean towel over the whole thing, do the hafrosho, then bake the first batch while shaping the second and letting it rise.
The challah freezes beautifully after it's baked.

I called R' Shlomo Miller's assistant Posek and he said that R Shlomo said that even if you only bake half the dough and freeze the rest, you still should be mafrish challah WITH A BROCHA.
