Can this be early sign of learning disability?

My three year old didn't pick up colors in play group or in school. He can sort so don't think it's vision related. Tried teaching him on a very slow space. But what got me very nervous was that after showing him green different stuff let's say and saying it's green and having him say they are green, two min later when I pick up same object he's blank and guessing all different colors. And if I ask him are these stuff green or pink he's still guessing! The weekly parSha he knows some answers to questions but I am so afraid it's an early sign if Will have hardships with learning!

Ask him to point to the green item, purple item etc. This way you see if he can identify the color. If he can , then it's a labeling issue and he should be evaluated for speech therapy.

he can't point to specific colors. He guesses.

Sorting colors means notcolorblind.
I have a child like that. They are in speech therapy which really helps.

For my child its a language issue.

Child is learning alef beis in school this year and getting extra pullout from kriyah morah, and is doing okay. Not fast and fluent, sometimes hesitates a lot before saying name or sound of the letter... But managing.

I have other children with language issues/auditory processing issues.
I recommend catching while young.

Try a speech eval

Seit here. This is how I taught colors:

Big basket of toys, half red, half assorted colors.

I picked up a toy and said "red", and put it in the red pile.
I picked up another toy and said "not red" and put it in the assorted not red pile.
Then I had child do it.

Teach Easiest colors first
black, white, red, yellow, blue

Why in the world would you teach "not red"? That is so confusing for kids with language isues.
Better would be to take red and blue and sort and say " red", "blue"

When child is getting better at colors use candy like jelly beans.

If child gets color correct they get the candy.

It is possible. People who are colorblind typically see differences between colors but they aren't very different.

I agree with previous posters. Check for color blindness. And see if he can identify colors rather than naming. Receptive language develops before expressive language so saying "Show me red" is easier than "what color is this?" Finally, it is still within normal range for a kid not to be able to name an object's color until they are 4... I wouldn't worry until then, but I would look into color blindness and receptive/expressive language to err on the side of caution.

I never had a child confused by "not red" but I guess it depends on child's level.

The idea was to teach one color at a time, not two colors.

When did your child turn three? Colors is developmental and some children are just not ready. If there are other delays or concerns you may want to consider an evaluation but if he is otherwise age appropriate, keep labeling colors in his environment throughout the day and see what happens.

What is he sorting by color? Sometimes a colorblind person can sort certain things by color because they can separate the darker ones from the lighter ones. But they don't actually see or identify the colors they're sorting.

Very possible. DH is slightly colorblind. Purple, blue, green and pink look very similar to him.
50% of males have some sort of color blindness.
His father and brothers too.
