I'd love one too...although I made pancakes last week with the Krustelaz (something like that) brand and they almost tasted like donuts. I was thinking of experimenting....so much easier!

these are dairy, and absolutely delicious!!
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 vanilla leben
2 eggs
2 tablespoons sugar
deep fry them in oil with a carrot in it to keep it clear.
sprinkle with confectioners sugar

this recipe has no yeast, so you just can fry it right away, without rising, right?
also where do you put the carrot? in the oil? is that a rule for any donut recipe?

fry it right away, dropping in spoonfuls. its a bit difficult to get nice balls but the taste makes up for it!
put a carrot in the bottom of the pot of oil; thats probably a good idea for all deep frying.
(there was a thread on this topic recently)

This sound yummy and easy. Is it very oily?
But what is Vanilla Leben? I don't think I've seen that in Israel. Can I take regular Leben and mix in Vanilla pudding powder?

Ingredients for the video recipe
2 eggs
1 dried yeast
60 gr sugar
60 gr butter or margarine
250 ml milk or soy milk
1 pinch of salt
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Approx 500 gr of flour (enough so the dought is firm and non sticky)
white frosting:
1 egg white
confectionner sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
I made them and they are yummy !

its 1 1/2 lebens which is 9 oz. sorry for being unclear...
im sorry, I dont know the substitute in eretz yisroel. leben in america is a pudding/yogurt/type of thingy that comes in a cup.
yes, it is very oily; its deep fryed. but its chanukah!!!
