My friend makes this great gefilte fish and she won't give me the recipe. She lets the loaf defrost and rolls it into balls. They are covered with a red spicy mixture. Does anyone else make this and want to share the recipe?

FISH BALLS
1 ½ loaves gefilte fish
2 big onions
3 carrots cut in rounds
3 chopped celery
Mushrooms
1 large can tomato sauce
4 tbsp water
½ c sugar
Salt
White pepper
Saute onions, carrots, and celery till soft
Add mushrooms
Add can of tomato sauce and 4 tbsp water to dilute
Add sugar, salt and white pepper
Make1 inch balls and simmer for 45 minutes
Note: you may find it a little difficult to form into balls because its very soft- maybe try rolling them when its still slightly frozen…

You can use my this recipe:

http://imamother.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52686&highlight=moroccan+fish

and just instead of using filets of fish, use the gefilte fish balls. You can also bake (like the above link yo'ma posted)
