We're looking into getting a new (used) car and can't decide which would be best. We prefer more than 5 seats but I don't want a mini-van as there are a TON in Brooklyn already and our driveway is pretty narrow. We were looking at the chrysler pacifica but it's too wide . . . anyone have suggestions for a car that's narrow enough so we can open the doors in our driveway, decent on gas, big enough for family trips? thanks.

I have a friend that has a Chevy Traverse. It seats 7 or 8 (I think). I have no idea how wide it is, but she is really happy with it. I can't give my personal recommendations, because I have a minivan.

The Toyota Rav4 has an option of putting an extra seat in the back, but that makes for a small trunk. I love that car.

If you want only 5 seats, the Honda CR-V is awesome. I had one before I needed more seats. It has the most ginormous trunk. You can fit everything.
