marinate them for at least 2 hours in half soy sauce, half sugar, and some crushed garlic.
you can thread long strips of the cutlets on skewers and grill them like that. lots of fun to eat.

Have him watch them veeeeery carefully. Be ware of flare-ups if you use oil and have a less than stellar grill. Give it a minimum amount of time on each side (check for done-ness), taste and serve immediately. You can serve them later on, cold, but they won't be as good.

ok im marinating half like ramom said and half in ( 2:1 olive oil and lemon juice ratio with salt and pepper-posted elsewhere on imamother).
we will see which we like better and use in the future.

what should we watch out for...oil on bbq can cause a fire?
we are using a tabletop propane grill...

Fat dripping onto a flame (oil is fat) can cause a flare-up. I don't know how a table top grill works - just keep an eye on the cutlets and don't let them grill too long and you should be fine. Too long = probably longer than 10 minutes total (depending on thickness).
