My DD is 22 months old and is terrified of having her toe or fingernails trimmed. As soon as we get near her with the clippers, she hides her hands and freaks out.
There has never been any past trauma with cutting her nails, so we're not sure what's going on.
Her toe nails are ridiculous! They're curling downward around her toe!
Tonight DH and I tried to trim them while she was asleep, but even in a DEEP sleep, she KNEW what was going on and kicked her legs the moment we got near her toes.
What is going on, and HOW on earth can we trim her nails?!?!

I let him watch a clip or pictures on my phone while I cut his nails.
Its the only thing that works for me.

We let DS watch mickey mouse. That worked for us.
Other things to try:
1) Try a scissor instead
2) Try a nail file

Another vote for watching a video while cutting nails. I also let dd pick which clipper to use, I had a few diff colors and sizes

We also do a movie or youtube videos to distract.
DH and I are crazy over keeping kids nails short. They put so much in their mouths and long nails are dirty and unhygenic. I hope you find something that works for you.
