How to remove a splinter?

is there any way to remove a splinter from dds finger without hurting her?

does soaking in warm water help? How long shld it take? Im having a hard time doing it cuz she keeps splashing the water all over. Also, she fell asleep now. Is it ok to leave the slinter in for an hr or two? She wasnt showing signs of pain, ik just happened to notice it. Someone pls help!

You can try picking it out with a tweezer. If it doesnt work dont try too many times or you'll make it worse.

The only issue with waiting a few hours, is it can go further in and/or break off.

Soak in warm water for a long while, dry the area and see if you can break the skin with a sterilized needle if you can't see the splinter emerge, then put a piece of tape (like masking tape) over the area and then pull the tape off. With luck, the tape will catch the tip of the splinter and pull it out.

This worked when DH grabbed a cactus fruit and didn't know that it had all sorts of invisible prickles on it. The tape grabbed all the prickles and they came right out.

If the tip is outside you could pull it out with your nails or a tweezer. If not, you can gently break the skin and it shouldn't hurt if it's not too deep.
