my pediatrician told me yesterday that I should take the baby (20 months) to an
ENT bec. he has had fluid in his ears for a long time. Does anyone know of a good ENT who accepts GHI?
Please let me know.
thanks!

In NY, there's Dr. Rothchild and Dr. Ari Goldsmith. I've used both and they're both excellent.

I know several people who use Dr Dolitsky and say that he's the best. My ped recommended Dr Mark Goldstein. Since I didn't want to wait a long time for an appointment, I use his partner instead, Dr Levitin.

The person who recommended him first is on imamother. If I notice that she's on tonight, I'll pm her to look at this thread.

I have several friends who are extremely happy with Dr Dolitsky.
he doesnt take my insurance, so I use Dr Ari Goldsmith and I am very happy with him.
theyre both great doctors.

As I've never had to take a child to an ent before, if he needs tubes does it get done in dr's office or hospital setting? As u can see, I'm a bit nervous about this!

tubes are inserted during a minor surgery in the hospital. the whole thing is pretty quick, like 30-40 minutes from start to finish... its a very minor and common procedure....

Ds had tubes put in. It is done in the hospital, but it is only a ten minute procedure. It was no big deal. He did not have an IV, just gas to put him to sleep. The surgery was called for 8:30 and we left the hospital at 9. It is really nothing to worry about, though I guess all mothers worry when their kid needs general anasthesia.
