If you use products according to the directions, and mind the warnings, you should be fine. I used mine when my son was at the age where he wanted to sit, but couldn't hold himself up for longer than a minute. I used to put him in it on the floor, sit in front of him, put on music and sing, clap, play peekabo, etc.
