Does anyone know what you need to be able to qualify for medicaid, or an insurance broker who deals with medicaid (if there is such a broker). Or maybe a different low-cost health insurance?
TIA!

You can also call the UJO in Williamsburg 718-643-9700
I would not recommend asking questions directly to the Medicaid offices because I have been given incorrect information in the past.
Eligibility is based on income with some exceptions. I don't believe they ask for resources anymore. There are higher income limits for pregnant women. There are no "brokers" as far as I know, but some social organizations will help you file/file for you for free. There are also some people around who will file / deal with Medicaid for you for a fee.
If you don't qualify for Medicaid, there is Family Health Plus, also free.
If you don't qualify for either and you're not covered at work, there is also Healthy NY but you need to pay ($$$ instead of $$$$).
