I'm in the process of buying DS (18 months) new shoes online. I'm looking at See Kai Run shoes but it seems like they only come in whole sizes. He is measuring a drop over a 5 in which case I would usually buy him a 5.5. Does anyone have experience with this brand? Should I just buy the 5 and 6 and see which fit? Any other brand recommendations? He is currently wearing stride rites which I love but I don't want to spend as much right now...

See Kai Run are usually wide shoes. Otherwise, I think pretty true to size in length. Ds had a pair and the quality was excellent.

The SKR are cheaper than STR? I can usually find STR for under $30 on amazon but very rarely SKR...

I'm assuming you're considering buying from a flash sale. Otherwise, stride rite generally is cheaper. If you aren't in a rush, myhabit features stride rite shoes once every month or so.

I wan't so successful in ordering a geox 22 for my 16 month old son who started off as a 21 only 3 months earlier. I put them on and he did not look comfortable. I shipped them back because I ordered from myhabit and kept the ones for my 6 year old which he loves. Geox is a great shoe and they last. My 16 month old son needed a wider shoe. I ended up taking him to some local store and buying him a $45 pair of shoes that is navy tie up, not the most convenient, stylish, or beautiful, but they seem comfortable and they are a size 23. It's hard to buy on line for a small child especially if you know your child needs the half size and they don't make that in the company you want.

His current shoes are about a size too small. He doesn't go out much so I guess I'm not completely desperate but he doesn't have any shoes right now.

I found SKR on amazon for $36. I've also been putting my boys in STRs exclusively since older DS started walking and I'm rather tired of their styles. They haven't changed in ages. I want something that he can wear everyday but also nice enough for shul on Pesach and the only (velcro) option from stride rite is the all leather brown str that I've purchased at least 4 times in the past three years...
