oh sorry was I unclear ... I voted for got out the first aid kit ... but only cm knows cause I was the first poster ... and I added that the choice of her not noticing was virtually impossible ... couldn't imagine cm not noticing ... if I wanted to choose other ... I might have opted for something a bit more imaginative perhaps Wink

I hope you didn't call Hatzolah. It's such a waste of Hatzolah's time. Hatzolah was meant for yidden. These men drop whatever they are doing to go help a yid & then they come & it's for a [gentile].

Excuse me, amother. Sometimes Hatzolah comes faster & what's wrong with trying to save someone's life, even if they aren't Jewish. I drove passed Ocean Ave & Ave R yesterday minutes after a guy on a motorcycle, with a helmet was hit. As I drove by, I noticed him lying face down, helmet off & a crowd gathering so I called Hatzalah who's main building is a few blocks away. I read last night that the guy died on the way to the hospital.

Oh, & BTW, he wasn't Jewish. But, I felt good knowing that I tried to help.

if I passed a [gentile] needing help I'd call 911. I think people take Hatzolah for granted. You're thinking on your side- oh yeah, let me call & have people come help no problem, but you have to put yourself in the other's shoes.

Maybe the Hatzolah guy stopped learning to come help, left minyan, or left his wife to help a fellow yid. And then he finds out it's for a [gentile]- which is not what Hatzolah is meant for. Yes, they have to respond legally if someone calls, but that's not why Hatzolah was set up.
Plus, it's tzedaka money being used. Can you use Maaser/Tzedaka for a [gentile]?

I see the amother's point.

DH is Hatzolah & numerous times he went on a call on Shabbos & discovered that the patient wasn't even Jewish (I don't know who called it in). That always bothered me.
