I bought a huge bag of fresh green beans on Erev Shavuos and promptly forgot about them. embarrassed
Anyway, last night I finally took the green beans out of the fridge and trimmed them (they were mostly fine). There were so many that I decided to cook half and roast half. The cooked half turned out fine, just as usual, but the batch that I roasted turned quite tough. Does anybody know why this happened? Is there any way to salvage this pan of green beans? I was hoping to serve them for dinner tonight. I would hate to throw them out, as this is an entire pan of green beans.

Any and all ideas are welcome, with the proviso that I am planning on serving a pareve meal tonight. Thanks.
