Help- I replaced my Dell ink cart. with generic.............

and the printer is working fine, BUT IT'S TELLING ME "BLACK INK LOW ORDER INK". I just replaced the black cartridge (and the color cartridge was replaced this week as well). Any advice?

Does my Dell printer realize it's a non- Dell cartridge?

yes, that happened to me also. it won't recognize that you put in new ink -but you can continue printing anyway. ( & you won't know when to put in a refill-I'm guessing.)

Was the warning there before you changed your ink too? if it was, then maybe it just didn't go away yet, or the printer dosent recognize the non dell, but it should work fine.

I emailed Dell tech support. It'll be interesting how they'll explain it and what they'll say to do to remedy it.

They'll probably tell you to replace it with a dell ink..

Seller emailed me to return the cartridge for replacement, as it might be defective. I ordered more than one of the same generic cartridge, so I'll probably try opening another to see if the same happens with the second cartridge.
