Tupperware warranty....why must I pay shipping?

I am a Tupperware fan and have been the proud owner of Tupperware products for many years. Recently, I guess from old age, some of the lids on my containers are starting to crack. I called the company, and was surprised to learn that not only must I pay for the replacement part itself, they also charge shipping and handling for the replacement. Am I calling the wrong number/department, or is this the Tupperware policy these days?
