I use ten year lithiums in both my smoke and CO2 detectors, but if you have ones that use conventional batteries change them out, and run a test.

I am assuming this is talking about the older versions, both my smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarms have a low battery detector and make me nuts when the battery is low (middle of the night "battery low please change" talks from the freaky lady voice).
