I was talking to a friend the other day and I said something along the lines of, nah I am not nice looking at all, and she goes don't be silly, you look like a flower
seriously, what kind of comment is that?!

It sounds like a compliment to me.
If you read the Anne of Green Gables series, the pretty girls are often compared to various
flowers.
