I am on a very specific diet program, I don't do any whole grain only protein vegetables beans and brown rice I was told to try eating quinoa anyone here is familiar with quinoa? Is it considered a legume? A grain? Are there healthier versions like with rice? Brown rice white rice?

It is a seed, technically, but looks and feels and acts almost like a grain. The brown ones are not healthier than the white ones, they are just a different variety altogether. The brown ones have a stronger taste. You cook it the same way you cook rice and then can mix it with anything to give it flavor - fried veggies, fresh veggies, whatever.
