I spoke to a pediatrician about this. He told me it is 'night terrors'.
Basicially there is not much you can do about it, except soothe the child back to sleep.
My poor little guy. But we don't give him anything to drink when he wakes up in the night, because he will get used to this.

wow just read this thread and my daughter to has been waking up for the last 2 weeks she screems we used to have her sleep with one of us still I got fed up, last night my husband put her in the bed in her room(we have a spare) until she fell asleep than he put her back in her crib. the sad part is that we let her scream it out but then she wakes up the baby, and I was hoping they could share a room when we move.
