Anyone doing anything fun this year?

Here's what I have so far:

Orange teryaki salmon
Apricot chicken
Broccoli (trees LOL )

We're adding wheat berries to the cholent...

Starch, starch...what can we do for our starch? Deli roll with honey (silan) mustard?

(Dessert ideas are in another thread.)

I love serving all the shivas haminim: challah, barley, grapes, fig, pomegranate, olives, dates.
But you can incorporate into your meal like challah, barley & mushrooms, grape juice, fig served over dessert, pomegranate salad, olive dip, caramelized date honey chicken.

Cook quinoa according to package directions.
Add to cooked quinoa:
olive oil
lemon juice (fresh if possible)
cumin
ground coriander
dried dates, chopped (or apricots)
Mix all together. Best to make ahead.
Add pine nuts before serving.
