Just wondering what a normal bedtime is for that age.
Also, please specify the ages of the other children in the family. IME bedtimes differ depending on whether the household consists of a few young kids compared to if there are older kids.
Thanks.

My child who is turning 8 officially goes to bed at 8:00 but sometimes it's more like 8:30. 4 yr old sibling also goes to bed at the same time. They are the youngest. Older kids go to bed much later.

For those who have older children and their 8 year olds go to sleep at 8-8:30, did your oldest child(ren) go to sleep earlier than that when they were 8?
ETA: Here's why I am asking....I have a hard time getting my 8-year-old to sleep earlier than 8:30-9:00. I know other kids that age who go to sleep at 7:30, but they are the oldests in their family and everyone else is going to sleep either earlier than them or at the same time. So I guess what I am really wondering is whether a 7:30 bedtime is realistic for an 8-year-old with older siblings (meaning at least a few years older).
