My 3rd grade son was absent from school for 3 days. Today he went back and he said his 2 pencil boxes were empty. All his glue sticks, liquid glue, crayons, markers and colored pencils and scissors were missing. He told his rebbe, who liked everywhere but couldn't find it. What am I suppose to do about this? HonestlyI'm frustrated. I'm already paying an arm and a leg for tuition and now I have to go buy everything again? And I bought all this on sale but now all the back to school sales are done. So I just drop it or do I call the school and say something?

Did you label each thing? The Rebbe needs to go through every kid's bag and take the supplies that belong to him. I would definitely call about this.

Wow that is SO frustrating!!
I would call the school and ask them for help/advice. Tell them you don’t really have a way to replace the supplies (aside from the money do you really wanna start running around replacing every number 2 pencil). I think as long as you don’t sound militant and instead sound like you’re honestly surprised and need help they should help you - after all it’s their school, it’s normal to expect your kids stuff will not evaporate when he is not present.

Does "everywhere" include other children's pencil boxes?

Rebbe needs to look into which boy took brand new supplies that he thought were hefker. It's the first week of school, every kid should have enough of his own supplies. A boy who has to take someone else's bc he doesn't have his own, needs an eye on him (re being cared for not re stealing)
