Hi
I have 2 windows in my children’s room that is causing a heavy cold draft. My kids keep getting colds and runny noses. The way the room is I can’t configure the beds any other way.
Does anyone have any tried and true ideas on how to DIY insolate windiws?
Thank you

Without changing the windows themselves so they are insulated you should get what are called "storm windows" which are windows that are installed in front of the existing windows. In the summer they have screens which pull down so they are dual function.
I grew up in a house that was built in the 1920's and it had the original wood windows - trust me when the winds blew in the winter they literally rattled. My parents installed storm windows and it really helped - sometimes I could see the frost on the exterior of the windows. My father was very utility conscious even back then and so they were installed to help with heating costs as well as provide a warmer room. Even with the storm windows, it could get cold at night in my bedroom because my bed was in the area of the room that was originally a sun porch so there were windows on the two exterior walls - PLUS my father turned down the thermostat at night
