Trying to find ideas to entertain my kids on chanukah nights as we recently moved and have no relatives or friends here to join for chanukah parties.
I thought a good escape room in a box game might be a good idea. Any suggestions of appropriate and fun ones for a bunch of tweens and teens? Or good original board games? I prefer games available on amazon.

I bought one on Amazon for a quarantine succos trip.
We really enjoyed it.
That is a good idea for Chanukah activity
ETA: we got this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....1b867
Stargazer manor. Was challenging but doable. If you want a little harder get the next level.
I liked they give instructions online to put it back together and you can give to someone else.

Thanx for the suggestions!!! I will be getting at least one of those escape rooms and I love the idea of a paint night. Any other ideas? Fun board game?

We also did the first one mentioned upthread.
My 9 yo and 12yo had a great time, my 5 yo couldn't really participate at all unless we specifically stopped everyone else from doing anything for a few minutes and prompted him along on a specific task.
So just keep that in mind as far as ages

We did this one! I was coming to recommend it.
FYI, we don’t have little kids.
Do not know how old you need to be to really participate.

We love the EXIT games (Thames and Kosmos, linked above) - some are better than others but we have enjoyed all of the ones we tried. The limitation is that the materials are pretty small so it's not great for more than 3-4 people, you can't all engage well at once. It's also single-use because you have to destroy some parts during the game, but it's worth it because they are REALLY well done and creative, and they don't cost that much anyway.
We also really enjoyed this Escape Room The Game, it seems to be discontinued but the same brand has other versions available https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....84ad5
It has more separate parts so can be shared with a bigger group. I also got a VR expansion pack that was very cool - there was a thing to download on your phone and then a viewer to put over it. Of course you have to be really good at taking turns for that, and someone needs to not use their phone for an hour or so.
They have some packs that are rated as 16+.

My kids loved the stargazer manor one, and we have done it 2 or 3 times. It's really well made. If your kids are tweens I would go with that, or another one from that brand, not sure if they make others.
The exit games are really hard and my kids are good at escape rooms. Really only good for teens I think, and a small group.
There are some online ones we have done. This is a Jewish company out of Israel. https://bagelsandlocks.com/

Which of the two did you do? I haven't tried either one. Would love to hear feedback.
