First of all, where? Second of all, PDD isn’t a diagnosis that is currently given. Would she meet criteria for ASD? Third, what specifically does she need therapy for?

Yeah this.

Does she might the critiera for ADHD? There's overlap with ASD and ADHD too.

How old is she and what are you looking to get out of the therapy?

PDD does not exist as a dx these days. It’s typically called autism spectrum disorder- not otherwise specified. What age is the person that you need help for?

Who diagnosed using PDD? I’m very surprised.

Just fyi, with ASD, generally you treat the symptoms that need to be dealt with.

We’ve had good results cutting sugar and grain for ourselves and our son who has a dx on autism spectrum that used to be called PDD- no’s.

No need to have so many threads about it.
Maybe rename title searching for social group for teenage girl with location.

That social skills class.

Again this diagnosis isn't a valid diagnosis anymore.

Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking Strategies might be a good resource. They are not based in NY but likely have practitioners there.

If you’re looking for biomedical treatment outside of therapy, look up the tacanow website. They have lots of information on diets for neurodevelopmental disorders, and other treatments for causes and comborbidigies like addressing yeast, chronic infections like Lyme and strep, mold, gut healing, heavy metal detox and so on. If you’re interested in homeopathy, look up Alan freestone. Gluten free is a good place to start, but may not give you enough noticeable gains at this point.

Hi OP
I hear you're new to this world.
There used to be a variety of different labels given to these behaviors.
About 6 years ago, they changed the criteria and now all PDD, Aspergers, ASD, PDD-NOS are all classified as Autistic spectrum disorders.
You'd be looking for a specialist in autistic spectrum disorders specializing in teen girls.

Diet may make small changes but usually won't "cure" anything.
ASD is a difference in the brain. It's there to stay.

Many different areas of specialists can help ranging from a social worker to a psychologist or occupational therapist. What you want to check is that they work with high functioning autistic spectrum disorder.

I hope that helps you.
