I'm 4 kids too late for this lol but send it to a new mom, I just found out about it
The Bridge Project is New York City’s first unconditional cash transfer program. Launched in June 2021, The Bridge Project is designed to support mothers with low-incomes during pregnancy and the earliest years of their children’s lives by providing them with consistent, unconditional cash on a biweekly basis. The program lasts 36 months, and mothers who are part of The Bridge Project receive $1,000 a month for the first 18 months of the program and $500 a month for the last 18 months, all on a biweekly basis. If you are chosen for the program, we will not tell you how to spend your additional income, nor will we include requirements like employment. By providing a minimum income each month, we believe households will be better able to provide for their new babies, meet their basic needs, become self-sufficient, and achieve more of their potential. You can learn more about our work at bridgeproject.org.

11205 and 06 are Williamsburg (the old original section of Williamsburg is not included, strangely enough).

This is more of the city going to pot.
I love how they will not tell people how to spend the money.
Wic…. Ensures that you are buying food…. But here a mom can buy drugs/clothes for herself/makeup….. and neglect her child
I am all in favor of people being able to get whatever they need, be it diapers, air conditioning, books, puzzles… but this lack of any accountability is just asking to be abused and misused.

SICK! This is where my taxes are going?!?!? Why? So people having babies can spend money for the next 3 years on whatever they wish? Please explain...
And the fact that the Jewish zip codes are not included is nuts too. How can a city run such a program that only applies to certain areas?

It's income based. Duh. And not run by the city. Your taxes have nothing to do with it. It's a private organization

Nope. NOT where your taxes are going. This is NOT a gov. program.

This is not a gov program but many countries give a child benefit.
