Monks were on Egerton Rd.
Before they became Just Cards, it was called Lavells and they were under different ownership.

Who remembers the "Havdula lady" ?

It was owned by Frischman, I'm wracking my brain trying to remember the name.
Before that, there was a womans clothing shop called Classic Collections.

Does anyone remember Russell's on Amhurst Parade? It was a lingerie shop.

Before that it was Martins.
.
Mrs Leah Jacobowitz had bought off Russell's Lingerie Shop and eventually relocated to Tulips, where Smada Nassim (daughter of Moses Supermarket) sold clothes .

If my memory serves me correctly Monks was indeed on Egerton Road, there's a Solicitor's office there now, I think in the same area.

The solicitors are exactly on that same spot where Monks were.

There was a book shop, more like a warehouse on Ravensdale Road near Benny's Fish Shop; I think it was called Makor Hasefer.
It closed around thirty years ago, but I enjoyed visiting when I lived on Ravensdale in the early 1990s as a new wife and even newer mother.
