Loved my grandmother dearly. Absolutely cannot stand the name.
Is there any nice alternative to the name other than Chasida?
For reference, names that I love but can’t use include Tehilla, Gila, Dina (see a pattern here?), Hadassa, Yael, Shira, Meira.
I’d also consider a pretty name to go with Fruma.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion! I just don’t like that name though. It would be perfect because it will iyH be a Chanukah baby… but I just don’t like it. (Yes I just found out it’s a girl and working on a name LOL DH thinks I’m nuts)

Interesting. Not one of my favorites but it has potential! Is it too similar to Tehilla? We have one in the immediate family.
Thanks

Atara Fruma?
Eliana Fruma?
Hodaya Fruma? (Is Hodaya too “modern”? I LOVE the name)
Ahuva Fruma? (You did say your grandmother Fruma was beloved to you)

I knew sisters (not twins) who were Tehilla and Temima.

If the Tehilla is a cousin who lives next door and will be in the same class at school, it might be a bit much, but otherwise I don't think it's an issue.

This is interesting to me.
My daughters name is Temma Fruma, named after my husbands
grandmother. We call her Temmy.

Emuna?
(I saw the Chabad link posted above, but I'm not convinced. I've heard definitely that Fruma does mean pious, also that it is related to the word frum.)

Let’s just say that Tehilla is either my name or my other daughter’s name… so I’m not sure if it’s a bit much.

Thanks everyone, some great ideas here! I’m open to more!

My grandmother was also Fruma and she hated it, specifically requested that no one use the name going forward. I only have one girl and she was born before my grandmother passed, so I haven't had the chance to name after her, but if I ever have another girl, the plan is Emunah.
