I'm starting to realize how angry I can get when dealing with a difficult very young child. How do I remain calm and loving? I feel so reactive when they behave a certain way, and I always feel terrible after the fact. They're so young!

Remove yourself from the situation. Just tune out but don't ignore. Deal with the child but as if it was someone else's because it is. Your child is Hashems child entrusted into your care.
