We live in a small apartment full of toys. I have 4 kids, my youngest is turning 2. DH insists he needs to get a present (one big or a few small) just like everyone else despite the fact that we have tons of stuff and no space for more. Any ideas?
He is an active kid, likes climbing and trouble. We would get a small climbing wall but no available wall space.

One of those toy Dyson vacuums? My 3 year old loves his.
Construction/Policeman/Fireman dress up set
Pretend tool set
Big truck to carry little matchbox cars
New book/CD that is his (I.e. Middosman, Uncle Moishy, etc.)
Car/road carpet

A personalized towel? He needs a towel anyway and the personalization puts it in the present category for your husbands sake. And at 2, it is a gift that he may soon recognize his name as his name, even without knowing all the letters. A nice way to learn the letters of his name.
If the towel is too utilitarian--a personalized sign for over his bed.
Either way, a big boy gift which makes no mess, given that you write you have tons of toys already.
