If anyone comes into my house on Shabbos and hears theprinter going like its printing, and its not printing, they could be choshed me. Its nuts.
It makes noise when were all asleep, and isnt connected to any network, for sure.
Whats going on with my simple printer that I bought in 2017 and just started making noise when not in use, recently?

You can unplug it for shabbos, though I doubt anyone who comes in will actually think you're printing anything.

We normally unplug for shabbos. It’s probably restarting. That’s old for a printer.

Brother printers have personality. They usually listen when you tell them to print something, and sometimes they don't want to. Sometimes they're bored and want to say hi. Sometimes they want to talk to the other brother printers. Maybe they just want some attention, like if you haven't printed something in a while and they want you to know they're still around.
