Having a small neighborhood party and I am ordering the food
2 pies of pizza - one vegetable and one regular
2 large pastas (like a 5x7 container or pan size)
2 large portions of fries, one spicy and one regular
4 salads - romaine, the make your own kind
1 Portion of falafel balls
1 Portion of garlic knots
3 soups

I would get at least at least another pie of pizza, another serving of chips, another portion of soup.
Are you having pita with the falafel balls?

How big are the portions of garlic knots/ falafel? I feel like it’s not nice to have a small amount of each and would rather order more of one.

Otherwise it looks good to me assuming all adults? Maybe have them cut the pizza to 16 instead of 8 per pie

1 would order a 3rd pie of pizza and 2 more fries. I'd rather buy 2 more salads so there's enough for everyone to have their fill, and skip the soups, because there's not enough for everyone.

I would probably increase all items since they're not party size 9x13s. But for sure the pizza and fries. Probably best to decrease the types of items and increase the quantities in general.

I agree with everyone else- get more pizza. Pizza is the main. Almost everyone will eat at least one slice- I’m sure many will want two.
Also I’ve found that people don’t eat much of the soup usually. Is this buffet style or will you be having a separate soup course?
If it’s a budgeting thing I’d cut the soup out totally and just get more pizza and fries.

1 portion of falafel balls and 1 portion of garlic knots is nothing for 16 ppl. Either skip them or order a lot more.

I would do 4 pies of pizza, 3 fries, the 4 salads and 3 portions of garlic knots. Skip everything else. It’s not worth it to get such tiny amounts of pasta and falafel because no one will really even get to eat it since there so little

That is so generous of you to get the food for the entire party.

Have a wonderful time.

I agree with skipping or ordering at least 4 orders of garlic knots and felafel balls, hard to know without knowing the sizes of everything, but I would limit the variety and have enough for everyone to have some of each thing. Maybe switch the fries to bigger size and get a 9x13 of pasta.

I think it sounds perfect, maybe one more pizza pie?

Keep the soup, it will be eaten by those who want to be healthy

More pizza as mentioned it's the most popular item
3 soups? One is enough

I first thought she means 3 diff type of soups enough for everyone, which is too much, but then realized that she might mean 3 portions or 3 containers , she didn't specify a size.

A 9x13 lasagne barely feeds my 4 adult children plus husband. I always make a 2nd and most of it is gone.

A 9x13 of ziti doesn't serve more than 8, no way it serves 15.

Depends if you serve other courses. IMHO 9x13 is tiiiiny amount for 15 people bordering on ridiculous

By catering it is considered let's say that you can cut a 9x13 pan into 12-15 slices of potato kugel let say.
Lasagne portions are usually larger than potato kugel slices
Also lasagne is usually served as a main dish whereas potato kugel is a side or snack.

OP is considering serving 16 people with a 5×7 pan of pasta which would be half of 9x13 pan

Exactly, so how can you get 15 portions of ziti when you can only get 12-15 of potato kugel. I wrote 8 to be generous. There is also pizza at this party. But OP wrote 5x7 pans anyway which are tiny!

You don't need 3 different soups but you need more of each dish. Including the pizza pies.
