Free Seat for Overweight

I think this is a good solution unless it means bumping someone who urgently has to travel. But what about pregnant women? When I am 7 or 8 months along shouldn't I be entitled too?

Are you referring to Southwest's policy? No one would be bumped, you'd book 2 seats and get refunded for the extra. If you can't comfortably fit in 1 seat, whatever the cause, you should be eligible.

It's not about weight, it's about size. Anyone who can't fit between the armrests of the seat is eligible. So if that's you during pregnancy, go for it. I always felt bad for people who are very tall too, and can't fit in standard seats. They have to pay extra for business or extra leg room or whatever.
