We were thinking of taking a trip to the Detroit area this summer for a week or two. We were hoping to get some sort of air BNB about half hour or less from a minyan, or of the city where we can rent on a lakefront. Is there such an area? Also is there perhaps some sort of cottage/bungalow colony type area near Detroit where frum Jews vacation that might have a minyan in the summer?

You might be able to do this, there are a lot of small lakes about half an hour away from the main area.
Maybe try looking in commerce?
Or maybe if you look at a map, a little bit west of west Bloomfield?
Or maybe south?
I’m having trouble thinking of the exact places right now but it might be doable.
If you wanted to be on a big lake like Lake Huron that’s more like 1.5 hours away.
There is a place like that (bungalow colony next ti Aguda Midwest but it’s on the other side of michigan about 2.5 hours away.

Thanks! We don't want a big lake, small is perfect. What shul would be most likely to be the closest to an out of city area with a lake. (When I search, I want to be able to route to the nearest shul.)
So far, I've been looking for lakefront properties within a half hour of oak park, because I know that there are lots of frum jews there, but I don't really know where the shuls are located.
