Our family of 5 will be visiting EY and I'm trying to plan a trip to Me'aras Hamachpelah from Yerushalayim. The bus seems simple and safe, but we do not have a lot of time and the bus route seems to be long (+ wait time). Any ideas how I can hire an armored tender to transport us?

I assume you mean bullet proof, not just rock proof?
Armored private vehicles are rare as diamonds in Israel, because the cost is $$$$$$$$$. If you do find a bulletproof minibus, you'll either be paying through the roof -- or they're lying about the armour.

I don’t think the bus takes that much longer than a car. Check the routes, there are a couple of options, and take the quickest one. As to safety, I would feel safer on the bus honestly, it’s built to withstand both rocks and bullets and it’s usually full of chayalim.
