Baby has been eating food for over a month now including eggs in various forms. Today I gave omlet strips and there like little splotches around the mouth. I have a bunch of kids and zero family allergy history. Is this normal? Can I ignore or should I take this seriously? I will speak to my dr but he tends to be very conservative and I’d like to hear opinions from experienced mothers. I know allergy protocol has changed recently and I’ve been giving all foods.. I did only give bamba once so I’m thinking I should prob do it more but now I’m a drop nervous

As a mom of allergic kids if it's more raised or puffy like hives and not just blotchy/red it's more likely to be an allergy. Sometimes it's only a contact reaction. Our doctor told us eggs very commonly make sensitive skin break out. I would not stop with eggs and just look out for other symptoms, but it could be your doctor would say differently.

Sometimes skin reacts to something even if the body is not really allergic to it. You can do testing if you want to know for sure. Also, people can develop allergies at any time in life, even after eating something without problems for many years.

My kids get that to dairy (if it actually touches their skin, like sits on their face) and I've had them tested at an allergist, nothing. They are fine with it otherwise.

I think maybe I’ll try it one more time in a couple of days and see what happened. They faded pretty quickly too

I would ignore it and keep feeding it!
