(Storebought, not homemade. It's expensive so don't want to include it if it won't get eaten.)

Ny husband and kids would love it..
I wish more ppl would ask first about putting stuff into shaloch Manos..this would save so much from weight gain and Baal tashchus

How is that practical? By the time I finished polling everyone and finding out their preferences I would have nothing left to give. Unless you mean custom mm for each person, which is a hard no, unless you're my mother or mil.

We would devour it and wish you had included more.
Or, if we hadn't already devoured it and had gotten a really lavish MM from s/o else, we'd add it to the package we were sending them to beef it up to match. Oooh pun not intended! Really!

Some people may not eat it due to kashrus co siderations.

To avoid weight gain- don’t eat it
To avoid wasting uneaten items- donate them or give them away

Not sure why you think the solution is that everyone essentially asks permission for what they can put in their MM to you

That would be true of anything anyone put into MM, including a bottle of water.

I factor in allergies, kashrus (yoshon, etc.), or if someone is a vegetarian. If I happen to know someone hates a certain food and I remember, I might make a switch if I can.But I can't make individual mm based on every single person's likes/dislikes, and I don't have the time to survey everyone on my list.

How would beef jerky be different than anything else? It's a packaged food. The hashgacha is there for you to determine if it's one you hold by. And I would assume anyone who's picky about the hashgacha is doing that for every packaged item they get, and also not eating anything homemade unless they know the person who sent it keeps the same standards.

Not that poster, but we don't eat beef jerky because we are bl"n makpid on shechitat Beit Yosef and I don't know of any packaged beef jerkies that have that shechita. Looks delicious, though!

Why wouldn't it have a hechsher like any other store-bought food item?

My husband and I would fight over it. Don't include it, OP! You'll cause shalom bayis problems!
