Hoping someone has an idea for me.
My son is 17 years old and was always average height.
Somehow in the last few years, he hasn't been growing that much and now he is really short and feels uncomfortable about it.
However we never did anything about it because he used to be average!
Is there anything at all to try at this point? He is so uncomfortable Sad

I’d say speak to the pediatrician about it..

There are growth hormone shots, I don't know if it's too late.

A doctor would probably order a blood test to check growth hormone level. And an xray.

It would depend on a bone xray which can tell approximately how much growth is left

You can Google natural ways to increase height.

Diet, lots of protein, calcium, fruits and veggies.

Supplements. Zinc, calcium, d3, magnesium, ashwagandra

Get 8+ hours of sleep.

Exercise with a lot of hard jumping like basketball or running (high impact) jump rope

Stretches, yoga

And Davven of course.

Test for celiac. There is something called silent celiac which is celiac with no symptoms. But being short would be a result of the celiac.

I would say the first step is to take hand xrays to see how far along he is in his growth. If the growth plates are really open, then he still has time to finish growing. You can try any methods to extend his growth. If the plates are closed, there's not much you can do.

I'm a big fan of reflexology for many things, but certainly never heard of it for growth.

Pediatric endocrinologist is the place to start. Even if you would rather do alternative treatments (if they exist), I'd still start with the MD just to have the evaluation done. I think it's just blood work and an x-ray.

By the way, one of the biggest factors for kids' growth is to get enough sleep. I'd help him with that immediately.
