if you go on bestbuy.com or a website like that, they teach you how and what to look for.

I am looking into a digital camera too, but I have one in mind already and I checked it out, Nikon 4200/5200. I have one a fuji with no zoom and it was only 2mega pixels and we got it only for mu husband's work, but we found we were using it so much and stopped using our usual camera that I wanted to get a better one.
It really depends what you want, I wouldn't get anything below 3.5 mega pixels though.
By the way has anyone had little whitish round things on pictures when they take with their camera? And it isn't always there, they sometimes appear on pictures and it sometimes ruins the picture.

I go either to Focus in Brooklyn or B&H in the city.
I do not buy the camera until I feel they showed me all the features I need & I feel safe to go home and be able to use it on my own.
Both places have great sales-people,good prices and excellent service!

Keep in mind to first see what it is that you are wanting from the camera. What type of pictures will definately make a difference in camera features. you want to look at zoom features, megapixels, size, video capabilities, computer connections, quality of brand name, store return policies...
