Have you seriously never heard of Black History month?

I'm quite sure she heard of "black history month" I think you misunderstood her statement. The parents didn't know the children would be singing praises to Obama, they thought the children were simply learning about black history.

Right. B/c we know that Obama being elected president wouldn't be a significant event in black history.

OH right! They just forgot to mention that it was the lesson plan they were really upset about. Just ignore all that noise and distortion I made up about being them opposed to that socialist trying to brainwash their children.

No they didn't. The protests against the speech were because of the study guides. That is what everyone was saying. Just because the media didn't write it that doesn't mean that wasn't the problem.

If you want I can point you to numerous blogs where in fact this was discussed.
It wasn't the speech, it was the study guides that alarmed everyone, and therefore they didn't want to chance the speech.

No one is upset by mentioning the facts, it is the singing that is upsetting people. There is a difference between stating; "USA elected the first Black President last year..." and singing about him using hymnals.

I am sorry if I can't explain the difference more clearly.

Please read the article I quoted. Or google any of the other many articles that clearly disagree with your claim.

Yeah, me too. I have a bunch of ranting people on my facebook page too. And it wasn't the study guide they were ranting about.

Everyone who I listened to, all the conservative bloggers and their readers, all the conservative tweeters, all the talk shows etc. it was the study guide. They opposed the speech not because the President was talking, but because of the idolizing of the man and the study guides that came out.

That is why they continue to get upset.

Try MOTIVATION TRUTH (xtian woman) or ANOTHER BLACK CONSERVATIVE or ATLAS SHRUGS or MICHELLE MALKIN or GLEN BECK or THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION.

Sure, take a snippet out of the conversation and it sounds like it was the presidents speech, but it wasn't. Most of the people were concerned about the study guide and worried about what the president would say BECAUSE OF the study guides and the songs etc. that had already came out.

If he had just given a speech no one would have cared.

Right. I'm sorry if your friends on face book were worried simply because the President was speaking. That wasn't the concern of the majority of people I was listening to.

HR - it's pretty obvious you aren't in the US. Otherwise you would know that people were worked up into a lather and not just about the study guide.

Again, these apparently are the people you associate with or the media's bias. I read and listened and heard from those who are in the USA, not Israel.

Left-wingers kept talking about the speech. Conservatives emphasized the study guide as being the cause of their concern regarding the speech.
