A halacha book said you have to use something that could be made into a sandwich. However, I have (very smart) friends who use their cholent..........
What do you all think?

I wish I could use s/t that is not perishable b/c then I wouldn't have to keep it in the fridge, which takes up room and makes the challah go stale. it has to be s/t cooked, though. Guess it'll be either fish or chicken nuggets.

Most people I know , incl. me use an egg and a challa rol or matzoh

I'm putting out the egg and challah roll now... will the egg be unusable after 2 days?
When I lived in Europe my neighbors left their eggs for days and days, and I was baffled.
