Do I need a calendar on the bulletin board in my classroom?
I technically have the space on the wall but are they past that?
If you feel it's necessary would a large calendar from an office store suffice or should a colorful and pretty one (even though it's boys) be used?

I think second graders need a calendar.. If it's for english you can probably buy one from an office store and decorate it every month you can even have the kids decorate it during recess with stickers etc. it can make a great project especially to increase self esteem of a weaker student.

For second grade I would definitely go with a colorful calendar. Maybe get one of the ones with a daily fact those are always fun for students.
