I was looking for a Carrot Kugel recipe and thought somehow the one below that I found was Pesachdik.
When I had already grated the carrots, I noticed the word "FLOUR". I decided to substitute 3/4 c potato starch and 1/4 c ground walnuts. The Kugel looks beautiful, but when I sliced an edge piece, I see theres a "gel" lish wet streak on the bottom.
Has anyone mastered the art of recipe substitution (for someone who eats non-gebrokts only)?
Would anyone have substituted differently (non-gebrokts only)?

I was also looking how to substitute and I googled & found this:
http://www.koshereye.com/passo.....msVNs
Bottom line about flour - she says to substitute 1 c. flour with 1/2-5/8 cup of p. starch. I haven't tried it yet, but will be happy to update when I do!
