My son is super distracted. before trying medicine I'm looking into Vayarin. Did anyone here try it for their child? And did it help? How long until you saw results etc. Thank you

I did not try it, so I cannot say if it is effective or not. However, please note that, AFAIK, it is derived from krill, a nonkosher fish. Good luck.

Medicinal products have a different halacha than food eaten for pleasure. Especially that Vayarin is contained in a capsule, not tasted. Everyone should ask their daas torah.

Vayarin is an Omega 3 product. Dr Hallowell who is the leading expert on ADHD promotes taking Omega 3s but you do not need to take that specific brand. I give my child a fish oil pill made by NavitCo that my local kosher grocery store sells.

My husband has a science background so he read these articles and went on pub med to find more studies to back up what was written.
I personally give my child a mix of conventional medications and natural supplements and together I think it makes a difference. We have not had to go the stimulant route yet. On their own, the supplements did not last long enough in his system to really produce meaningful results over time.

Can you share what the mix is? My dd might start meds soon but not sure which.
