DS starts his day at 7:30 for minyan and goes until 6:30 or 7:30 depending on the night. Comes home- eats dinner, does homework and then its late and time for bed. Where in the world does a boy who does not play basketball fit in some kind of physical exercise. The school he attends does not have a gym or "gym" time. They get a about 15 min. break in morning. 45 min. lunch and 15 min.breaK in the afternoon, how does a yeshivah bochur who prefers chess to basketball get any physical activity in. I worry about ds's health and and his pediatrician wants him to get more physical activity as he sees his weight curving up on the growth chart....
I feel bad as when ds comes home- there is no time, and during the breaks at school he wants to hang out and schmooze with his friends that are not into basketball as well. and again- there is no indoor gym option to even just walk around during the winter.
ideas...

It is so hard. Same situation here except my son needs physical exercise. He can’t sleep at night when he doesn’t move enough. Following for suggestions.

Its very difficult. The ones who get the exercise in, walk or bike to school. The biking though makes me sooooo nervous.
