Is minute tapioca the same as tapioca starch? I've seen minute tapioca recommended in slow cooker recipes as a thickening agent and wondering if it works the same as my tapioca starch.

Minute Tapioca is little balls that turn into gum-like little balls when cooked. It's different than the starch which just provides a thickening mouthfeel and consistency.
(I actually use minute Tapioca in my chometz apple crisps and Tapioca starch in my KLP version.)

Would one work better as a thickening agent in a slow cooker stew, than another?
